Start Again

It's been almost two full turns of the Great Wheel since last we posted to this blog. Those years have been filled with love and hate, joy and heartache as well as successes and failures.

We matured; we fell to weakness. Through ignorance, we inflicted injury upon those we love. In defenselessness, we suffered greatly at the merciless hand of fate. But, above all, we grew. That growth was often in opposing directions but, it was growth nonetheless.

Some walked away from us, not knowing how deeply their abandoment would cut into our hearts. Others struggled and fought to bridge the gaps left behind by our growth. They worked to re-establish the connections that were on the verge of disintegration.

It makes for a idealistic scene to stand proudly, shoulders squared and announce to the world, "Dispite our trials, we survived!" A romantic, but not intirely accurate picture.

We have, in deed, survived past tribulations; yet, we didn't escape unscathed.
The holes ripped into our hearts by betrayal have been sutured and are mending but, are far from healed. Our confidence, once brandished, endured blows that left it cracked and robbed of some of its brilliance.

Yet, out of the pain emerged essential realizations. While picking up the pieces of our broken hearts, we were forced to more closely examine them. We used that time to decide which parts served our goals and which needed to be set aside. From the pieces of a once great coven, we have begun the construction of a newer, better one.

We will heal, of that there is no doubt. Our scares will ache but, they'll serve to remind us that though growth is often excruciating, it is an inextricable and valuable part of life.

Blessings,
