One lone witch stood erect in the cascading light of the full moon. With head held high, face to the sky, she boldly called out into the Four Directions, "Come to me!" And, one by one we came.
Circle of the Sacred Spirit was birthed by a circle of witches June, 2004 but its origins rests solely in the vision, forsight and fortitude of Salix Babylonica, a witch who had grown as a solitary practitioner and sought the company of others of like mind.
Ok, maybe she didn't "summon" us so much as she posted a message on a yahoogroup. But, no matter the means, her call was answered by six solitaries all seeking what she sought, unity.
We came together to work magick but what's more, we gathered always with the larger pagan community in our hearts and how we might benefit that community on our minds.
Through the years our coven has experienced, learned and grew. We looked outward toward others; we focused inward toward ourselves. And, now, we look out again through refreshed eyes and with an eagerness that burns in our hearts, a desire to have a positive impact on the Greater Birmingham and surrounding areas' pagan community.
