Deep in the Mother, beneath the garment of desolate snow, life quickens! Now is the time of the first stirrings. Now is the time we celebrate Imbolg. Some know it by its Christian name, Candlemas. Others know it as the secular Ground Hog's Day. All recognize it as a time of hope.
We hope that the frozen death that has gripped our land and held us at its mercy is soon to be banished. We hope that the Goddess will return from the underworld to reign with her Oak King during the Light half of the Wheel of the Year.
Now is the time to make ready the plans for the works we hope to accomplish over the next year. Imbolc is Breet's day. She is the goddess of writers and craftsmen. Those who seek her blessings over projects and careers on this day will not be disappointed. This is also a time of fire purification and the burning away of obstacles to our goals.
When we open our hearts to the hope and lessons of this day, we find our paths well layed and set our sights to Lughnasadh; when we can reap the harvests of our labors.
Blessings,
